Pillowcase Dress Model

This is Madi Ruth Collums modeling the pillowcase dress her mom had me make for her. Isn't she the cutest baby?

Here Lately

I have managed to get some sewing time in since school started.

I made a flannel snowflake dress for Marion Kate Maffett.

I made a Corduroy Christmas Dress for Ellie.

I made a Halloween Pillowcase dress for Haylee's little girl.

And I ventured out and made a mat cover for Allie Beckley. Complete with attached blanket, monogrammed for nap time.

Sewing This Morning

With school starting back today...I felt nerves at about 5:30 this morning...so what was I to do? Sew of course. I monogrammed a dress for Christmas and sewed up this one for Miss Ellie. At least someone benefits from my nervousness...right? Let me know if you need anything for the fall I can sew it when I get up at the crack of dawn.

Promised Pictures

I stated before that I have been in the sewing room as of late, but I haven't posted any pictures....well, since it is the night before school starts and like a little kid, I can't sleep-here are some things I have been working on.

I have monogrammed two backpacks for sweet second graders I know.

I have made one pair of Halloween pants size 1 (12 mo)-let me know if you want them

1 pair of Christmas pants size 1 (12 mo)-let me know if you want them

1 adult apron for a teaching friend who has decided she will now where and apron while teaching-

I have made 16 monogrammed supply bags-one for each of my students...yes I know sounds crazy but this way they won't fight over crayons, the loss of pencil bag/boxes, or have to feel left out...I like the even playing field...and they can be hung up in their locker so I don't have to watch them dig in those desks everyday!

I have also monogrammed 2 aprons for my good friend Ashley- She has a canvas business with her cousin, Maggie, and they wanted paint aprons.

Yes, I have been busy. Yes, I have greatly neglected my classroom and will spend the next three days making it parent/child ready. I also have been working on some other things for my students...stay tuned.

Back at It

So I have full intentions of being back in my sewing room today. I had a fun day yesterday picture smocking, well learning how to picture smock. It is tedious and you have to pay close attention to what you are doing...so I may not be great at it...But I have a few items to get finished before school starts back a couple of aprons...some bags and just some monogramming...

Yankee Doodle Ellie

Remember the outfit I made for Ellie for the Fourth of July. Well, I snagged this picture off of her mom's facebook page. Three observations from this picture:

1: she looks just like my brother/her dad in this picture

2: mom was right about this fabric...i could have picked out something cuter
3: I need to get started on her some outfits for the winter.
Happy Tuesday Friends!
